"a portrait of my child, once a week, every week, in 2013."

my little tot walked briskly through the park on the 4th of july.

i've been playing a bit of catch up each month. it does seem like my blog exists only for the 52 project. well, on second thought maybe the 52 project is a motivation to keep me blogging. let's think positive, shall we? i've planned lots of fun adventures during the summer. some are already done but i just forgot to snap the precious moments. so with fingers crossed i'll do better job at keeping memories alive and managing time to post on the blog regularly. huzzah!

my 17 month old baby is not a baby any more. he's getting to be a big boy. i love watching him grow everyday.

last saturday our little family was invited to a private bbq party. luckily but anxiously at the same time, there was a private sandy beach nearby the venue tempting little kids to jump in and play. we weren't prepared at all for the unexpected play set, and to be frank, i guess it was only me who was a bit concerned about letting glenn play in the wet coarse sand! glenn couldn't stop himself running to the beach. he didn't mind the sand got everywhere on his body or the water soaked into his clothes {of course he didn't! what am i saying?}. he was full of pure joy while playing in the sand. ;)

after he decided to be brave walking outside glenn doesn't want to stop walking, saying hello to strangers and exploring everything that is within his reach. :)

Glenn has been taking his time to walk outside {this sounds weird but he doesn't have any problem walking at home}. every time i encourage him to walk in the hallway or at the park he becomes so rigid and crawls back to me and wants to be hold in my arms after all. my husband and i just figured out Glenn is very sensitive to the change of his surroundings so we are trying not to force him to walk until he is ready.

i'm joining the 52 project, initiated by Jodi of Che and Fidel, from this week. Glenn started walking as soon as he turned 13 months old, and he's been following me everywhere i go at home. what a big step towards independence!! ;)

diaper rash help

diaper rash help

i can tell last month was the toughest time for Glenn in his 13 months of life. he suffered from bad diaper rash for a month. a month. seriously. my heart was so broken when i saw it getting worse and worse. to treat diaper rash i tried pretty much everything i was told to do, you know, change diaper frequently, keep the diaper area clean and dry, rinse the diaper area well at each diaper change, use a barrier ointment, and so on. however, at such an age of that every single diaper change is an exhausting battle, trying to hold him down long enough to do all the treatments was really really hard. applying the ointment on his diaper area was no kidding!!! meanwhile, i found out the products that worked great to treat G's diaper rash and i thought it would be good to share them with you someday (today is the day!). first, triple paste medicated ointment worked great especially for G's severe diaper rash. it creates a thick barrier to keep the diaper area dry longer. second, bambo diaper worked like magic. it is eco-friendly diaper without chemicals, soft and breathable. third, kirkland baby wipes worked amazing. i love their clean smell and texture that doesn't irritate baby's skin.

Glenn's diaper rash is cured now and this mama doesn't want to see diaper rash on his cute butt any more! ;) i hope this post can be a little help for you and your baby suffering from diaper rash.
