my little tot walked briskly through the park on the 4th of july.

i've been playing a bit of catch up each month. it does seem like my blog exists only for the 52 project. well, on second thought maybe the 52 project is a motivation to keep me blogging. let's think positive, shall we? i've planned lots of fun adventures during the summer. some are already done but i just forgot to snap the precious moments. so with fingers crossed i'll do better job at keeping memories alive and managing time to post on the blog regularly. huzzah!

last saturday our little family was invited to a private bbq party. luckily but anxiously at the same time, there was a private sandy beach nearby the venue tempting little kids to jump in and play. we weren't prepared at all for the unexpected play set, and to be frank, i guess it was only me who was a bit concerned about letting glenn play in the wet coarse sand! glenn couldn't stop himself running to the beach. he didn't mind the sand got everywhere on his body or the water soaked into his clothes {of course he didn't! what am i saying?}. he was full of pure joy while playing in the sand. ;)

a few weeks ago, david and i bought glenn a play kitchen. we were not sure how much he was going to like it but now i can say we have been delighted to watch him cooking for us. :)

spring, i missed you so much!

spring has always been my favorite season that i look forward to. even if i am a very patient person i almost got mad that the winter weather stayed for longer than it should. it was too hard for me to wait for the winter to be over. and yes, right now i couldn't be happier to see the cherry blossoms are finally coming into bloom and spend all day soaking up sunshine with my lovely family and friends. i am really enjoying the beauties of springtime.

after he decided to be brave walking outside glenn doesn't want to stop walking, saying hello to strangers and exploring everything that is within his reach. :)

glenn made a CAR all by himself! there were a lot of trials and errors of course but he finally figured out how to put the lego blocks together. nice job, glenn!

Glenn has been taking his time to walk outside {this sounds weird but he doesn't have any problem walking at home}. every time i encourage him to walk in the hallway or at the park he becomes so rigid and crawls back to me and wants to be hold in my arms after all. my husband and i just figured out Glenn is very sensitive to the change of his surroundings so we are trying not to force him to walk until he is ready.

feeling homesick

living far away from family has never been easy for me. i think that's why i get homesick so often, like every couple of months. tonight i miss my family. again. there's nothing i can do for now {i called them already.. :( } so i'm just looking at the picture of my family over and over again. mom, dad, and brother, i miss you so much!

Glenn turned one!

this time of the year

our little christmas tree is finally up! i swear baby Glenn got excited about decorating the tree even though he doesn't exactly know what christmas is. yep, you're mama's boy! we listened our most favorite christmas songs over and over again- it's the most wonderful time of the year and let it snow sung by andy williams. the songs opened up our feelings and made our hearts flutter. oh my gosh, i just love this time of the year!

after the storm

it was a long night. i was so scared that the gusty wind kept howling around us like crazy. even though i remained all night awake, thanks god, we were ok now without any issues such as power outage and flooding. as you all know, however, Hurricane Sandy brought chaos and devastation to the city. it was actually worse than we ever thought. i really hope and pray you and your families are safe and warm. i know many challenges are ahead of us but am sure we will get through together with support and love..

in the fall

last weekend. teamed up with a bunch of good people, David, Glenn and i went to Weed Orchard to make a tradition that is somewhat new to us. we had so much fun together and most importantly ate lots and lots of delicious food. btw, if you were with us on that day, it would be quite hilarious to see how we packed a stroller, a car seat, a diaper bag, a lunch box, and three of us in such a small car. {we booked a mini cooper mistakenly!}
