my baby enjoys mealtime with solid foods (i've been making my own baby foods, most of them are inspired by this book). for a couple months i have been helping him eat more independently so that he can eventually develop a sense of achievement. what i introduced to him was a spout cup and happy baby organic puffs. after much trial and error, now he can use the cup mostly by himself and pick up the puffs with fingers. but that is it. he picks up the puffs with fingers but never puts them in his mouth! i repeatedly show him how to eat with fingers but he looks at me like 'ok, mommy, that's enough. i am waiting. just feed me.' "baby, you will pick up the puffs and put them in your mouth at this time. let's try! mommy will help you." when i say this to him, he waits a few more seconds but soon starts crying. so what can i do? i feed him afterall. doesn't it sound like we are having a litttle tiny problem? do you have any tricks for helping baby eat by himself?
